Urban Youth Employment Pathways Study
The Urban Youth Employment Pathways Study is a comprehensive research initiative exploring the opportunities, challenges, and aspirations shaping the livelihoods of young people in Bangladesh’s growing urban centers. Through robust field surveys, in-depth interviews, and participatory workshops, this study maps the current landscape of urban youth employment, focusing on skill gaps, education-to-employment transitions, informal sector participation, and emerging industries. The project also examines the influence of technology, gender dynamics, and socioeconomic backgrounds on employment prospects. By highlighting the diverse journeys of urban youth, the study delivers actionable recommendations for policymakers, educators, NGOs, and employers to create inclusive pathways, bridge skills mismatches, and empower youth to contribute meaningfully to the national economy. The findings aim to inform youth employment strategies, vocational training programs, and urban development policies for a future-ready Bangladesh.
