Shamsul Abedin Anik is an emerging economist with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Dhaka and is currently pursuing his Master’s in the same department. His research interests include international migration, development economics, and environmental economics.

Before joining IDA, Anik worked as an intern on an environmental project at ARCED Foundation, gaining valuable hands-on experience in research and field operations. He has also authored and published several academic papers in the Department of Economics journal at the University of Dhaka, showcasing his ability to contribute original and policy-relevant research. At IDA, he applies his skills to conduct high-quality, evidence-based studies that support both development initiatives and policy formulation.
